Rodbat Management is Hiring a Security Officer Near Torrance, CA

JOB SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for observing and reporting in addition to providing emergency response services for the entire campus.

JOB LOCATION

American Honda Motor Company, Inc., 1919 Torrance Blvd., Torrance, California 90501.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lock doors and gates of entrances and exits to secure buildings. 
  • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances. 
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain the security of premises. Authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to Customs Controlled areas to guard against theft and maintain the security of premises.
  • Write unbiased reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, the presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. 
  • Monitor premises through surveillance equipment to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure proper operations of doors, windows, and gates. 
  • Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or the presence of unauthorized persons. 
  • Respond to medical emergencies by administering basic first aid or by obtaining assistance from paramedics. 
  • Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during business and non-business hours. 
  • Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, or machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering. 
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Being physically fit to walk and stand posts.
  • Inspect security vehicles and report issues/damage.
  • Operate a motor vehicle.
  • Site-Specific Training: Training developed to cover basic site functions, equipment, processes, and policies.
  • On-the-Job TrainingSpecific training on specific software, machines, or another device specific to each site.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • State Regulated RequirementsSpecific State regulations for security service providers to operate in the state. 
  • Public Safety and Security: Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. 
  • Valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Education: High School Diploma, Some College or Certification.
  • Proficiency in all onsite Emergency procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and possess above-average typing skills.
  • English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. 
  • Customer Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. 
  • Active listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Communication: Communicating to others to convey information effectively. 
  • Coordination: Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. 
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. 
  • Reading Comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
  • Active Learning: Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. 
  • Writing: Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to stand, sit, stop, bend, and walk regularly for up to 8-12 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to climb up to 3 flights of stairs.
  • Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials.
  • Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to twenty pounds frequently.

REPORTS TO

Security Officer will report directly to the Site Manager.

SALARY

$19.00 per hour

  • Up to 6 days of Paid Sick Leave (PSL) per year

HOURS OF OPERATION 

During designated operating hours, special events, and on recognized holidays. Hours of operation will be consistent for service provided at the American Honda Corporate Office.

TRAINING 

Aside from RMI-provided orientation and initial training, Security Officer shall participate in on-the-job training.
